freewebsites.com lets you have subdomains

no they don't...

from what i understand they have wildcards enabled so that *.domain.ext goes to domain.ext/indexfile.ext

but you can't make whatever.domain.ext go to domain.ext/whatever

i may be wrong but when i was with them i saw no way to make sub domains...

Your wrong. It's verry easy. Just make a subdir and it works as a subdomain. ex: http://www.domain.com/other would be other.domain.com
