Does anyone know any tips for promoting a new WordPress plugin?

[zoomzoom]

Hi everyone,

We released a new free WordPress backup plugin, Backup WordPress site by WPvivid. It creates backups with manualy and automatically and upload them to cloud storage. It is available to download from WordPress directory now.

Although, it got some positive reviews, the active installations is increasing slowly. I am wondering if anyone can tell us any tips/advices on promoting a new WordPress plugin.

Thanks.

Try soft-launch tactics: start by solving real problems, not selling. 1) Share a clear one-line benefit and screenshot on relevant subreddits (r/WordPress, r/Plugins) — follow each sub’s rules. 2) Offer a free limited beta to gather honest feedback and reviews. 3) Write a short setup guide and post it on your site and communities. 4) Make a concise, helpful answer post linking to a detailed page (e.g. https://rdpextra.com) and your plugin page. Be transparent, engage with commenters, avoid copy-paste promotion — authenticity and helpfulness keep accounts safe. Also add an SEO-friendly description, a short demo video, and monitor installs and support requests to iterate.
