I never really liked the cgi YaBB version nor the php one.

I'd like to point out that I have tried to use it before, the YaBB people are not all that good with php, I ran into many bugs, mostly in the MySQL database, they failed to write the URL so all my links kept pointing to http://www.mydomain.com and thus I deleted their forum. In my opinion its way to buggy, then need to debug and re-release.

Personally I feel that YaBB SE isn't that nice looking and is full of bugs. Not good for a forum software.

Its a great improvement on yabb one gold but still it has its bugs and problems. There are quite a few boards out there better than yabb. Yabb just gets looked at the most because its an easy option and it also I believe is better promoted than the other boards.
