Free and paid hosting can differ in quality, support etc

A paid host can support itself with the payments made by clients (This would cover staff, licenses, servers etc). With any respectable host this would often result in quality hardware, non-oversold environments etc

A free host can't get that direct coverage to pay those same costs. Instead they might rely on advertising or simply operate at a loss. Normally this means a more overloaded server as they need to fit more accounts in each box just to cover their costs (or in many cases, operate at a loss in doing so deploying fewer servers).

If you have an important website and care for quality support, quality software/hardware then consider the ~$5 per month.

You will find many restrictions with Free Hosting and very limited level of support. Many free hosting also do not provide backups of your data or backup tookl in control panel. Its always good to consider paid hosting if your website is important to you.

In free web hosting you will not be able to find all the features required for your website. But at the other hand with paid web hosting you will find so many features which is required for your website.

Thanks,
Matt

The major difference between Free and paid hosting is of support. With free hosting you do not get quality support while in case of paid hosting you get 24x7 quality support and great uptime guarantee.

Hello,

In free hosting you did not get any type of support from hosting provider. Uptime also very poor as compare to paid hosting.

Free hosting comes with more downsides compared to any paid web hosting. Free hosting comes with less security of your data and also with limited spaces. A paid hosting will ensure a good customer support with a security online data protection.

Free hosting is not good if you are going to host something that is important to you. It can be good for a hobby site or lets say when you are just trying to learn. Free hosting comes with a lot of limitations and the most important one is that it does not offer backups. So, a paid hosting, maybe a starter plan would be best rather than going for free hosting.

If you're still thinking - don't. If you don't need many resources then you'll find many hosting plans that are quite cheap. But what you get with paid hosting services will be the guarantee of a good service - more or less support, little downtime and all in all - no misunderstandings.

Reliability and security are main differences. On a free environment, the server you share with others will be full of abusers, resource monsters, spammers etc. Most paid providers wont allow these kind of clients on their servers. Their servers are more secure and reliable. And shared hosting is not that expensive nowadays. So it is not worth to save a few pennies for that head aches on free environments.

BS. ^ This only occurs on servers in which the admins allow unregulated and automated sign-ups, or they're just stupid. Anybody that gives two ----s about their boxes would seek out and terminate any abusers long before it would get to the point of disrupting other users... free or otherwise.

There are having many differences between the free hosting and paid hosting. The free hosting environment include ads, banner, pop-ups and other advertisement methods and also it was very limited by what features that are available. It is beneficial for those who want very simple website.
Whereas paid hosting environment are offering the variety of services, it provided the client with all the necessary features needed in building and maintaining a very professional atmosphere and website.

If you are planning to start a project and serious about that project than never go for free hosting .... Now days, paid hosting is not that much costly, you can have shared hosting package in less than 1 dollar per month ... so why to look for free one with hassle of downtime and lot other problems ...
