credible sites

I'm trying to design a very clean, simple, elegant, credible, advanced, and professional site. A site that looks VERY credible and visually appealling.

Here are some good examples:

So, what are some others? I need lots of examples here. Just some really exceptional sites. No flash though. I want to keep it simple.

Those sites were credible, but they looked kind of ugly.

It's going to be an authoritative site on information for various diseases. Therefore, people need to feel like they can trust it.

Why does it have to be pretty? Do something like the CIA has, simple yet people are not after a great absolutely fabulous design.

I hope you realize that a credible reputation is based not on design, but on substance. You aren't going to be credible if your content is bull. However, any reputable company with a horrible design, is still reputable. Take a look at Arctic Silver's Website for example. The design sucks, but it's still the most highly regarded thermal compound in the computer industry.

Remember that substance is always more important than style.
