anhedonia I'm on a boat NLC Feb 18, 2002 #4 Really? Well, open a graphics program and go File > Export > Export to .gif I think PSP7 does it.
F fatman New Member Feb 18, 2002 #5 You can't just rename the file. One way is to use the freeware graphics file viewer, IrfanView. You can get it at: http://www.irfanview.com/ You can even do it from the command line if you wish, eg: i_view32.exe c:\*.jpg /convert=d:\temp\*.gif

Click to expand... Then you have been doing it wrong. The format won't convert if you only change its extension. If you have Photoshop, open up your jpg image, click Image > Mode > Indexed Color... and click OK, then choose Save As... from File.
