I have a small budget (for my little brother and sister.

up to $2 a month
hopefully not too much more than $20 a Year

Looking for the following

PHP
MySQL
25MB or more Disk Space
FTP

also if it has ASP as well that would be a bonus
anyone know of any that would fit this bill

also is

Always take complaints on forums with a bit scepticism but it might be worth reading.

8-95.com might fit you. It's 50Mb space with 1Gb/transfer a month (it's $8.95 for 6 months). I don't have direct experience with them but it's a somewhat less pricier spinoff of my host so support should be good since it's the same people :)

(Edited to add that if you're planning on getting a domain then do it directly through a registrar like GoDaddy or eNom since too many people get cheated by registering it directly through their host)

I no one, it does have a setup fee, but its only like 1.95 a month, and it does have alot more then you want. http://www.challengehost.com but i dont know if thats reliable or what, i've never used it, i'd give it a try, i mean its only 2 dollars lol. :D

ive used them since last fall and overall they been pretty good. some features you have to asked to be enabled.
1.down once
2. cgi-bin problems but they fixed them pretty quick
3.positive they do answers mail pretty quick,uptime been good.
overall a good reliable host.

i broke my hand so havent had a chance to look into this further.

i will pay yearly for any of these services.

also the ASP doesnt matter at all but the most important is sendmail or smtp so that people will get emails from my site. i have changed y focus as i have had time to think and am going to be hosting this site ate the new domain http://diground.ish.biz (thats my test site at the moment, but i want it to be my live site)

zaphod, just so you are aware - not many servers do run both PHP and ASP on the same server... mainly as PHP is more a UNIX thing and ASP is more a Windows thing- however it is possible to run them both on the same server and to run PHP on Windows and ASP on Unix, et cetera.

Perhaps take up a PHP host, and use Brinkster as they're free (who are an ASP host, and ASP.net)

Perhaps you could look at Portland. They have 25mb space, 250mb transfer, PHP, FTP and it costs £11.95 per year which is US$18.69 at the time of this posting. You can get a mySql account through their site as well.

Just so you know, I am no way affiliated with Brinkster, Portland or Portland Sql and make this post for the main benefit of the original poster
