Cheap .ca domains?

I need some cheap .ca registers. Any of them?

http://www.domainsatcost.ca was the cheapest I found. At $19.99 CDN it's cheaper than what I'm paying for my .coms.

Yeah, well, it's not everyday you find extremely cheap registrars that accept PayPal, so I settled with $14.95 from http://register4less.com who just happen to be a Canadian Company.

code.ca is taken on http://www.domainsatcost.ca, but on register.com it says it's not... Whats that about?

Some registrars use their own local copy of the whois data - taken in snapshots - to tell whether a domain is available. This is not accurate, but it's fast.

When you actually try to register the domain, the registry will be queried and you'll no for certain.

You can always check at a registrar where the registry is asked and data is not locally cached...

According to the WHOIS at www.cira.ca (Canadian Internet Registration Authority):
"Domain code.ca is not available.
01114 Domain name is reserved: names of other level exist. "

Most domain authorities (.us, .ca, .tk...) have a list of reserved words that one one cannot register.

www.cira.ca also has a complete list of .ca registrars.
