I think you can register with ZoneEdit or Mydomain and set your domain to point to your static IP.

Uhm on your localhost you host something, right?
Static IP means you disconnect/reconnect sometimes, right?

So that wouldnt be really good, right?

I was assuming you have a static IP since you're running something on your localhost.
What exactly are you running on your "localhost?"

What connection are you on?
If you're on 56k then there is no point to point your domain to your localhost because your IP will just keep changing.
