once i put my new hd in the case, how do i update my bios so i can use it?
please someone help me!
oh, and when i try holding del when starting up, i get a password screen in ms dos mode....

sounds grim if you have the password set

adding a new hd is usually real easy just stick it on the IDE cable and hope your pc auto detects it (lots do these days) else you have to set it in the bios, again it may auto detect it or you may have to know the drive details.

sometimes you may need to move some jumpers on the hd. there should be some info on the drive like slave/master 1/2 or go to the manufacturers web site
