Actually there is no spam in the forums at all ....
and for a very good reason.
Anyone caught spamming is immediately deleted
and permanently banned from ever receiving hosting,
FREE or COMMERCIAL. We are very strict on that
policy and react very quickly to users like that.
Additionally, your posting rank in the forums isn't
necessarily the total that will be used at application
time. Every application is held for a live administrator
to go and actually read all the posts of an applicant.
Posts that don't provide some meaningful content
don't count. IE: "me too", "I agree", "cool!" type
of posts don't count towards your required total.
You are either going to qualify for hosting legitimately
or you are going to be finding some other hosting
provider. We are very serious about that. Our
first interest is in quality hosting. We actually don't
care about the number of signups we get.
As for the earlier posts about the 75 posts to
get MySQL, it's very easy. Most users make that
in a few days at most. We have so many
discussion topics that you'll likely find something
you are interested in and reach your total before
you realize it. In any case, it is only 10 posts
to actually get an account and you can add the
MySQL a few days later.
Incidentally, MySQL isn't the only upgrade ...
there is actually a whole list of upgrades you
can get depending on your qualifying post
count. Most of our users love it and tell us
that quite often.
I hope that answers the questions you have been
debating in this topic. If you have any more questions,
feel free to stop by and visit us.
