Hello

I am about to start a free hosting promotion again.
Here is what we are planning to offer.

Http://www.yourdomain.com hosting
15 Megabytes of Disk Space
250 Megabyte of data transfer
CGI+Perl+PHP+SSI
1 Mysql
3 POP Email Accounts
Website Control Panel
unlimited autoresponders
unlimited email aliases
unlimited email forwarders
1 ftp accounts

All we ask is One 460*60 Banner and One text link on the main page of your website.

I am just wondering how many of you out here will be interested?

250 megs of transfer is nothing at all. you may just as well offer nothing.

the only sites that will be satisfied by 250 megs/mo are the ones with like 50 unique hits per month. so like no one will be visiting enough to view/click your banners. and since the person has a p.o.s. site anyhow, everyone's a loser in this game.

plus, no one with brains is going to put money into a domain that they'll be satisfied in drawing only 250 megs/mo of traffic too.

250 MB is not NEARLY enough.

You know... if Besta didn't have the paid hosting I would swear this was a Portland Co-brand with an extra 150MB of bandwidth.

Hey keith

Thx for the advice.

We are just targeting small personal websites. We aren't expecting to get anything out of those accounts. We thought it would be nice to give someting back to the community.

lol
he's not from portland though. I thouroughly searched his site for traces of a portalnd reseller and couldn't find any.

dns servers point to their own ip's, the main reason why they aren't a portland reseller.

WE have no connection with Portland Community.

May I ask whats so special about Portland Community??

How can you say that? They offer way more than GeoCities.

Portland died, so only megagiga and CA remain.

Besides, like said 250mb sucks as transfer, I really need paid hosting.

I agree with Docevl. Thats not nearly enough, not even for a personal homepage.

i dont believe i have ever heard of a personal site use

CGI+Perl+PHP+SSI
autoresponders
mysql
???

but theoretically, if a site ran completely all on php and and the mysql is hosted on free sql for instance, would that cut down the amount of bandwidth usage??
