Infection, you might get a mod to edit the poll.

It is unclear that we vote that is a load of rubbish, or agree with the pastor

Where I live, they recently burned and banned harry potter books from dozens of churches and declared the same thing..... Its all BS I say!! I mean really people, they are books.... I read them all and they are perfectly normal fantasy books. So why doesn't he just declare all fantasy and D&D to be satanic? Why not throw in Sci-Fi since the two genres intermingle a lot? Ok, now we are the Fahrenheit 451 situation... Burning books because some nuts are saying they are satanic... Why not? What the hay? I notice that culture DOES burn well...

Well look at both sides. The Bible is just a book, and so is the Satanic Bible. However, you can see the affect they have on people. Why would they be the only books to do so?

However, what's posted above is from a religious viewpoint. It could be for real, or we could merely be heading into another proverbial useless Salem Witch Hunt.

Next, do witches have any real power, or is it in the mind? I once knew a witch. We hated each other. She seemed to be able to bring harm to others, but never me. I account this to the fact that I didnt believe in her powers, and those others did. My belief is that they only have power over you if you allow them to have it.

So any way you go, they are making more out of it than they should. The same thing happened back with the D&D game..

gah. what a load. i'm a pagan; we're freaking harmless. people think that pagans are satan worshippers, but the old pagan religions were flourishing thousands of years before anybody had ever heard of satan. *shrug*

What jibberish! I didn't bother to try to understand. What does it say? That Harry Potter is the work of Satan or something?

ROTFLMAO!!

This post makes as much sense as when Jerry Falwell said that the Teletubbies were really gay propaganda in disguise.

Saying pagans came b4 satan is not really true, depending on your religon Satan Came b4 all men.

Anyway. No i do not believe HP is a satans guide book, sure its dangerous but its not pure evil. If you start taking on the role of the characters then you have to stop and think.

Also trust me all Pastors will condem D&D, just b/c it is not mentioned does not mean its not.

I like your words, webdude. :), whoever consider HP or similar type of novel to be satanism is the solid brainwashed person not allowed to have imagination...

In this case, if you have faith in something (say your authority).. too strong faith.. (I didn't say it is right or wrong) You maybe blind.. Your authority will think and find the answer for what you want to believe. And from that time, you will stop some parts of thinking and having imagination.

Finally 'your authority' will be your excuse for everything you don't want to believe..

What really annoys me about all this Satanism talk is how ppl like this so-called "witch" equate Paganism with Satanism. Isn't that sort of prejudiced? What on earth does Paganism have to do with Satanism, anyway? Were the ancient Greeks and Romans Satanists? Or the Druids?

they weren't satanists because they had no conception of satan. in the celtic, welsh, mainland european and greek pantheons there existed a Horned God who became demonized when Christians were trying to discourage the old religions, but the horned god was more a hunter/fertility god type than a being of Pure Soul-Stealing Virgin-Sacrificing Evil(TM).

when people say "witchcraft" they're probably talking about wicca, which gets most of its material from the celts and druids. celts and druids worshipped nature and talked to trees -- pretty harmless if you ask me.

anyway, the whole harry potter argument is ridiculous. a manual for satanic witches?! because i'm SURE that if i picked up a wand and shouted "abrakadabra!" at someone while focusing my mental energies they'd keel over and die. au contraire. they'd probably fall over laughing. they're probably bent out of shape over harry potter books because they paint a rather disrespectful picture of authority and discourage kids from becoming little automatons.
