I think the things that help anyone to distinguish one web host from another is the public opinion and the popularity of the company. Just go to yahoo or google and type the company's name. The other thing of course are forum reviews. if people say the company is not good enough you can not argue.
 
By the time you use 2 GB you'll be already suspended, so save your money and go with a nice REAL host :)
