you run a porn site with 2gb of photos and you dont know what a TGP is.
I find that very unlikely.

TGP means Thumbnail Gallery Post
It also says photo galleries are not allowed to prevent exactly what your thinking of doing, we make exceptions to this on small galleries.

Use a compression utility, such as WinZip, to archive all the files you aren't actually using (and delete the originals).

You can find a list of freeware and shareware versions at NoNags.

As HostUltra said, a web host is not the same thing as a file storage service.
 
Just a note on those compression programs...I remember trying just about every single one that claimed to have a better compression ratio than most...Turns out it was negligible so I went with what was then new, WinZip 8.1 :devious2:

I just sent a friend over to Hostultra so she can try this place out, this is what she got, and she did double check her info. She lives in the southern United States before you ask. Hello? How can you not accept applications from the US?? You accepted ME, and I live in the same town.

Since a message on this topic is already predestined to be "IGNORED OR DELETED" on your HU.com forums, maybe you can address this here.

We do accept US signups, its our main target userbase.

Do not use a proxy/cache that hides your IP.
Make sure you selected United States from the drop down menu (i know this is obvious but its very easy to mistakenly select the wrong thing from a drop down menu)

Ask your friend to goto http://www.whatismyip.com/ and tell me what IP it says.
 
Ok, like I already mentioned, she double checked her information, because I was standing behind her when she was using her laptop. Her ISP is the same as mine so her address should be 64.39.132.xxx or similar. There would be no reason to hide any IP addy.

She's since given up on hosting from HU.com, I was trying to let you know that something's wrong with your sign up.
It says her country wasn't accepted. She had indeed selected United States.

Your IP doesnt help me.
We know yours works fine.

I programmed the verification myself, there is only two reasons why that error would show:

1. The country in the list you selected is not allowed.
2. The country in the list you selected does not match the traceback of your IP.

We know its not number 1.

If you tell me what username she wants ill give you a code to skip the verification checks.

*edit* using a foreign email domain can also cause the error
eg user@web.de will never be accepted no matter where you are

Err i'd be more inclined to say that the "File Size Limit" is what keeps this host alive. People can go host thier warez/porn/other crap elsewhere. Sure a bigger file size could be good, but don't complain, look at what you are getting for $0/Month.
