Whats the 'best' CPU and GFX Card?

Hi,

Does anyone know what the current best CPU and GFX card is that can be bought in a UK shop/online?

I got a new PC back in november built up by PCWorld with the specs i needed it for to run GTA IV on the recommended specs but meh.. after getting IV today its ok in single but its very .... online.

I ain't wanting to spend like £900 just on the 2 tho :/

Check out http://newegg.com for the best prices on anything.
I recommend the NVIDIA GeForce 9300 mGPU or ATI Crossfire X and Intel Core 2 Duo. Core 2 Extreme is the best but costs over 1k USD.
That could easily run GTA IV, without lag.

I would suggest an ATI HD4850 + Intel Core2Duo E2200, if you know where to go, you could get them both for £200-£250.

Meh.

I wouldn't consider an E2200 + HD4850 as "current best" combo.

If I had to buy today, I'd definitively get an E8400 as CPU, and maybe a GTX 260 for GPU. Both for less the 300 pounds.

The best processor may be of any price range, what is your price range, in that price you can get the processor details if you ask in the price of $900+ go for Xeon E5450 series or E7000+ series
