Hello, Everyone. :)

I'm looking for a new server. My current one SUCKS, Today, all day it was at 60+ server load.

I want to have the following specs:
20GB Space (Or more.)
200GB Bandwidth (More, preferably.)
cPanel/WHM (Root access for me.)
5 IPs (If possible, If i need it, Can i have additional IPs for a dollar each?)
php
SQL
Downloading speeds on the client end at least 1000kbs or 1mbs. (Mega Bytes, Not bits.)
Any processor >2.4ghz (I'd prefer Intel)
>512mb Ram

If i forgot anything, Let me know. :)

I would like to request, That anyone who offers, Is of proper age to own a hosting company. I don't want a 14-Year-Old Script Kiddie Host.

As well I will post my offer in abit. But you can be any age and own a hosting company. You can start a company when you are 10.

Thanks,
eRudNet

^Well, You know what I mean. And I don't believe 10 is the age; Considering you cant get a job until 14.

My budget will be $50 a month. If it's to low, in a lot of people's opinions, I might hire it.

Sure you can, thats why this industry is ruined.

Checkout http://a2b2.com

I would go with them. Great support etc. When signing up, if you do, mention BoulderHost as the referrer if you do.

It's a great company, I have a VPS and a dedicated.

You might be better off requesting that they have been (obviously) hosting for at least a year. That is easier to check on than their age ;)

Hey, you are forgetting the most important part the excellent service and
support 24x7x365 and overall the 99.9% Uptime.

1) A load of 60+ on a server cannot systematically mean that the server sucks, as you say. Our boxes handle loads of way over 300 without a sweat and with lots of power to spare. Note that I am not making an offer, we target a different customer base than what you need, especially at your budget level (which I consider to be quite unreasonable for the specs you are looking for, anyway)

2) The download speed on the client side will necessarily be limited to the slowest of the two ends of the connection. If you are on a slow DSL, you will never get your 1MBps download speed, even if your server is on a dedicated 100Mbps uplink. Note also that 1MBps (that you request on the client side) is equivalent to 8Mbps. Are you sure you client pipeline can get this speed?

Best of luck to you.

I agree with RocketFlow about the downloading speed :) It's really limited at client side. Our servers are connected to 100mbps ports, and within our servers, we can reach up to 10 - 15MBps. However, it's different at client side

anyway, your budget $50/month is too small for a dedicated server, even unmanaged; or even with large VPS (you require 512MB RAM or more). About the CPU, even VPS is running on Dual Xeon or Dual Opteron, but it's shared, and I doubt you can get > 2.4GHz CPU on VPS

You should raise your budget more :) or lower your requirements

^Well, as long as it can handle my site with 2,000+ people online, Its cool. :)

RocketFlow: Okay, You try to put your server at 60 server load, and see if you can access your site. pfffft, At least MINE can't go past 10 without it overloading. It took 14 minutes to load the ----ing server status page. And I'm on 8mbs cable (But because some people cant READ, I said MEGABYTES PER SECOND, not MEGABITS PER SECOND, BIG DIFFERENCE!) I almost seldom get faster than 700 or so. I got 1mbs from a layered tech server, but when i went to their site too buy, their cheapest was x1.4 my budget.
I know most servers are on 100mbps up link, but still, I never get the real speed. No offence meant by this post, just saying.... And thanks for the good luck wish :)

And BTW, even if your server doesn't meet the specs, and its cheap.... Post here anyways. And as Martin Ewing said, I would like good support via MSN, Aim, or yahoo. 24-7-365 Preferred :p.

In reality, you just witnessed the biggest misunderstanding with customers.

"I almost seldom get faster than 700 or so. I got 1mbs from a layered tech server,"

I promise you, it's not the server, it's the connection. Do a Traceroute FROM YOUR SERVER to YOU and do a traceroute from YOU TO THE SERVER.

Find the latency.

Hmm, You're right. I withdraw my comments, Layered tech is a few states over. It's probably the location...

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

May I remind you of my request? We do also offer VPS servers, ready in under 2 hours usually.

Thanks
