Start my own Redirect service

Hi guys,
I have a bunch of 3 letter domains and if my friend's willing, a few 2 letter ones. I want to setup a free redirection service for fun. :D
Anyway, I probably won't start on this 'lil project till summer comes, but I was wondering if anyone can suggest some scripts. Paid is okay! I found some that are like cjb.net style and come.to/ style and I think I will go with the script n2v uses, though if anyone has used others, lemme know! :biggrin2:

v1.1 of the redirector i'm writing [mentioned above] will have some more kickass features, within the week...

Keith:
Why don't you use some kind of database instead of a textfile??
Or maybe just an option to have the records in a database instead.

But to get back to subject, Keiths script seems to have all features one would need :)

Scripts24's iRedirector is a good script. You can choose advertising methods, if you decide to. If so, you should make back the cost of the script soon enough.

yup, that's what n2v uses. hmm free vs. paid script...
so wzr.net vs. script24, anyone have both and can compare for me? :D

nope sorry, but as wzr.net is free you can always try it and if you don't like it switch to the paid one

when i started writing it, i had a form up asking whether people would prefer a flat-file or sql backend. the ratio of flat-file requests to sql requests were around 10:1 [roughly]. probably a lot of newbs responding

i suppose it could always be easily adapted for sql, or pretty much any database... just haven't gotten around to it.

okie dokie, let us know when v1.1 comes out
well in 1.1 i'm adding email verification/activation, i've changed the ad-scheme configuration [so instead of having to name a page to where your ad is located you can type up the html code in a text box right there and it'll save it in the admin].

i'm also adding referral tracking and a text/image counter for each member to display on their page:

http://www.wwwmirc.com/redir/counter.php

...blah blah blah, small stuff... also a few minor bug fixes... so maybe by the beginning of next week, that is if i don't run into a lazy spell...

probably a stupid question, but does dot.tk provide wildcard DNS thing in their free service? and if not, does anybody provide the DNS thing free?
