midnight is morning, therefore waffles are breakfast.
 
Don't you eat waffles for dessert? I understand about pancake since yours are so heavy. Even if our's aren't we mostly have them for dinner. Waffles - as snack mostly.
 
No, waffles are for breakfast too, regardless if you just eat them with syrup (like me) or if you prefer the strawberries and whipped cream instead.

You're not talking about some sort of strange crêpe waffle are you? :p
