Netzero?

I'm using Netzero to connect to the Internet (since it's free and all) but I have a small problem, I seem not to be able to send mail using Eudora and my own smtp server. I can only send mail thru netzeros smtp (smtp.netzero.com) and not my own. Is there any way around this? Thanks!

Netzero

Yeah dump Netzero! Go with something like http://www.bluelight.com. They are best for now since all of the free internet companies had died out.

Also, I think netzero are going to charge people after the new year. I found this out at f u c k ed companies.com

Netzero does this for SPAM purposes....

When using Netzero, any and all, email accounts have to have the smtp server set as smtp.netzero.net in order for it to send.

Its stupid, I know... But that's how they regular SPAM.

Thanks rockergrrl... the thing is I don't mind using their smtp server, if they would remove the ads! LOL.

I think bluelight was part of 1st*something*up company. They no longer have free internet access anymore. Netzero, excite, and juno are the only companies offering free internet now. Netzero sucks, excite has many busy signals, juno just blows. After eating the free lunch for over 2 years, I went to paid isp and I suggest you all do the same.

Spinway.com was originally the provider for Bluelight.com not 1stup.com. Bluelight had just launched a press release that they had bought all assets of Spinway.com. Although they are having few minor problems on different access numbers. But I totally agreed about paying an ISP service. It is after all the safest way. Just like the saying goes..."You get what you paid for."

However, Freelane 2.0 which is powered by excite, now owning their own ISP...nobody knows how the service is going to be. I think it's mostly the location you are connecting from. When I was on the business trip in Los Angeles...the connection was very poor and keep kicking me offline. But when I was in Tennesse, it was fine and in fact the connection was at 52000. It's the best connection for a free one that I ever had.

I am planning on going with DSL. I am looking into this website company called http://www.freedsl.com to see if there is any minor setbacks. If anyone knows about this comapny....and the reputation it uphold, please let me know.

Thanks!
