File Storage Server - Video Streaming

Hello,

A friend told me about this site and said you guys may be able to help with my hosting problem.

I am looking for someone to host me for a reasonable price per month.

I will be streaming Videos (ANIME - FLV Format).

I am basically just looking for somewhere to dump my files for my site.

At least 200GB space and at least 500GB band.

One VERY important thing, the server MUST have Fast connection to the Internet because i don't want it to be streaming every 5 secs which is the prob I'm having with at least 5 companies.

Please provide me with a Test file and if u can maybe a Test account so i can upload a file and see if it streams well.
 
I approved this but I am going to have to let you know...

You are NOT gonna get that amount of space and bandwidth and be able to use it for what you want at a price lower than $70~. The reason for this is the fact that its not possible to provide tons of hardcover space and bandwidth for $5-$20 and still be able to pay for the hardware. If you do find it cheap its gonna be from an overseller who will probbly suspend your site once it starts using any resources what so ever.
 
But companies like dot5hosting and lunarpages have said ok but their download speeds are slow so i though i should just give it a shot here
 
Lunarpages do something called Overselling. Basically they offer "unlimited" or very high quanities of space and transfer. They figure if they offer that to everyone, most people won't use much, which makes up for the customers they have that do use that much.

The problem with overselling is, if you read the TOS very closely, you see that each host has a provision where they may delete your account if you use an overabundance of resources, even if you are promised "unlimited" (which is not possible).

You have to really be careful with those hosts if you plan on using that much space and transfer. In almost all cases, you will end up shooting yourself in the foot with their services.

Read Matts post. They are overselling and will surely suspend you very soon
 
I really doubt you are using 200GB of space. As people have already said, they are overselling.

There are only 10 people currently on my server, and I can fully guarantee the resources I offer. Your not going to get non-oversold hosting for any less that what I've offered.
 
Why not go with a video host that's been a round a long time and don't cost much?

Something like megavideo premium membership for about £8 pounds a mouth ?

For got to put there space is 1 TB

What I have to say is that you need to look at dedicated server first of all. Dedicated server with good network infrastructure. And in the shared web hosting request that would be quite difficult to find
 
You might want to consider looking for a VPS, which will cost more, but less likely the host will suspend your account. These kind of youtube sites uses a lot of bandwidth and server resources!
 
No shared host for this. I recommend a dedicated server, not a VPS either.
Reasoning: That disk space is over a VPS capacity, bandwidth is mid to high range of a VPS capacity. But, that much disk space will require more bandwidth, thus being in the range of a dedicated server.

As for the streaming, you'll need about 2-4GB of RAM/Memory to sustain that much disk space streaming content. As for that memory, pricing starts about $100/mo for a decent dedicated server.

So yea, including all the recommended specifications, prices are about $120/mo.
