This forum isn't the current release is it? I think 3.7.10 is.. i don't know if you have to pay for upgrades, but if the forum was upgraded, then you can use the tips feature. add a little notice in the forums about low post counts have things disabled.

it works like a news ticker. would be good. show the rules around too, as a reminder ;D
