It's not a big deal, I want to register some other domains at 1and1 with some privacy guard on (willing to pay the extra money). If they don't have it I guess I could jump over to namecheap (their whoisguard is free for one year) instead.

Experience with 1and1 was good (registering domain only). I believe they are probably losing money as well as a compensation of attracting people to use their hosting services. Wish they had some whois security service like namesecure, I would pay the extra bit for it.

Looks to me you can't use that script, at least not without validation... so are you going to continue on hosting? Or delete accounts or something (empty ones)?

If it were up to me I would reduce it back to 25mb, to me the most important aspect is bandwidth. 500 mb is pretty generous yet realistic for freehosting.
