What makes host.sk different from f2s?

Gathering from what I have heard, host.sk provides no-ad hosting and makes a profit from users upgrading to pay services. Of course, this means they are taking a gamble by not making any money off their free services. Isn't this EXACTLY like F2s? What makes them capable of surviving when F2s died out? Even if it has been up for a few years, F2s was up for quite a while as well. Why should we trust in host.sk?

Just like to point out that f2s isn't dead, they've just stopped offering free hosting. They used free hosting to build a user base of paying users, and apparently were successful enough that they could stop offering free services.

Yes, that might be what host.sk is doing. Either they're using their paid service as a way of keeping up their free service because they truly believe the internet should be free for the public but realize they need some users to help pay for the costs (like what Crosswinds.net is doing), or they're only having the free service until they can sucker enough free users into upgrading to pay, then they drop the free service and start jacking up the price of their paid services and actually charge for the space and bandwidth used on the pay services.

cManiac... why do you always have to put down other hosts to make your host (9cy) look better? Just because host.sk offer a lot more features and space than your service, there is no need to get jealous

It's not my host anyway. I just help Paul run it.

Anyway, that's not my motive. I was asking WHY it would be different from F2s. It doesn't look like it has any chance of surviving. Remember that F2s also stayed up for quite a few years before they turned to paid.

I never trusted host.sk before. I don't trust any free hosts, but those paid hosts can cheat me of my money :(
