And why are you releasing his personal details online..? Just because he didn't pay for the server does not give you the right to release confidential information publicly.

I removed the name. Even if it's not his real name, I don't think it's a good idea to post it here. The email is enough.

he paid. Please just put his name in google if you need it again just pm me i will give it to you. This is a child porn provider. That is why he was listed here. So that nobody else had that problem of this guy buying services.

darksoul my thought is if you can take advantage of kids i can post his name on the web

Was he hosting said content through your services?.

Edit: Let me explain my first post in this thread. You gave away confidential details of said client. These details include name, email and IP-address. Now, I don't host paid clients nor do I actually run a business so I have no idea on if what I am about to say is true or not, but I am fairly confident you just broke privacy laws. If the client in question decided to take you to court over this, he would likely win.

Of course, if he really is hosting child porn then he would probably go to jail if he tried that. But the fact of the matter is, unless he was hosting it through your services you have no actual proof that it was your client hosting it other then his name.

If he was not hosting that however, and someone decided to DDOS/hack him, you just gave away all the details they would need. He could press charges against you for that as well.

This is why if I was a person looking for hosting, I would never go with you.

From the looks of the site, he wasn't hosting child porn. I believe the correct action to take would be to consult your TOS, and make sure you have a line forbidding images portraying children in a sexual role, and then take action based on that.

With the mountain of loop holes in laws across the WORLD, he has probably done nothing illegal.
For a start, I really dont give a crap about united states law, its over regulated bull----, the majority of it is just their to protect the governments revenues. I refuse to buy united states hosting anymore, and so should everyone else..

I don't think its good for your business to come in here attacking people who have signed up for your services with your name in your sig, no matter what the circumstances, especially over domain whois information, which is just a matter of inputting fields, them domains could belong to anyone..

Finally, If I was you, I would have already removed the legal loop holes in a terms of service stating what david has said above, regardless of law, a terms of service can forbid any action that may be a loop hole...

Yes I have kids, I find this sorta crap just as sick, twisted and morally wrong as anyone else would, but business isn't about emotions its about logic.
Logic says "This ---- is so disgusting, I dont care if its legal, I wont have any part of it, so I will write up a terms of service that states that clearly."
Also:
This is why if I was a person looking for hosting, I would never go with you.

&& whats funny is, he could take you to court for slander and probably win, think before you do things and do things correctly.
You can report people like this and get it properly investigated, there is a more than one agency that work online to try and rid child exploit material...

Also: My hate for US is the fact that they made trade deals about copyright for country's to update laws, when I feel that these child exploitation loop holes are FAR more important than copyright.

I work very closely to CEOP and always get a result when it comes to that type of content. When ever I find that type of content I suspend there account and report it.

Main Site: http://www.ceop.gov.uk/

Report: http://www.ceop.gov.uk/reportabuse/content2.asp

so .oa i guess you have your opinion but i think this guy broke more than law in the us. Not with standing, The server was already shutdown, as soon as i found this information. So no ddos attacks could happen. The burst datacenter has searched the hard drive and have found incriminating material. They have turned it over to authorities. I just wanted to let everyone in here potentially block him.

Very interesting how anyone would defend a child predator no matter how "valid" their logic appears. As for over regulation, I am glad it is in my country. I personally think protecting our children is a responsibility of any good parent.

today he emails me stating this

ok - do refund me - or I do chargeback from paypal

I said we will not be refunding you, and if you do a chargeback we will fight it through paypal and we have our terms of service that you violated.

he responds back

ok - also I write comments on forums

Ugh. I hate it when n00bs write bad reviews when getting suspended/terminated for breaking the TOS.

this always happened,
they threatened to file a dispute in paypal to cause u trouble,
but they never think that it is hard for an unverified account to win a case against a verified account. and they dun even think that we got keep the evidence for terminate the service provided to them.

and they think that writing a bad reviews can cause a hosting company fall.
yeah, maybe that can work.
but when people see they have very low post count, no one will care about them. or if they have high post count, usually the already reveal their real side of themself in those forums, so no one will believe them also.

:)

Strong twisting of words in a attempt to validate your reasons, dont twist my words around like that, if you cant debate without twisting what someone says, you are hopeless, no one was defending him, that was clearly written, I am just saying its not up to socheaphost to judge him publicly, he could be sued because of how ----ed the laws are..

Please learn about the legal system, the legal system DOES NOT HAVE MORALS and wouldnt give a ---- what he may and may not have done when hes sueing you for slander.

LOGIC LOGIC LOGIC.
Something you all tend to fail at from time to time when letting your personal opinions out with the name of your company in your sig.

he responds back

Its about good customer service, not using the blame game..
"you violated this or that, so no refund"

Refund the money- he may say nothing, or even
recommend you on other sites.

deny the refund - he will surely will talk trash about you, and
in the end, you could be losing lots of potential sales.

You have to think long term, and what is
best for your business, option #2 is not it.

If you are not providing the service, then all fairness,
you should have given the refund...
