Terrorist Guilty Plead REJECTED?!

She was only trying to protect his interests. The manner in which he blurted it out was wrong to say the least so she told him to take a week and rethink it. I think just about any judge would have done the same if the person was representing himself or herself or the judge felt that person may not realize the repercussions to his/her actions.
He says he wants to plead guilty to save his life but I don't think you can really believe that. If that was the case he would have plea-bargained that and I'm sure the government would have accepted since he claims to have knowledge of future plans.
I could be way off as I haven't been following this case but my guess is this person wants to be found guilty and I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to die. Why? He continues to pledge himself to Al qaeda and if you are loyal to a country/group you would be proud of your actions because you would feel they are right. Clearly if he followed his own beliefs and remained loyal to Al qaeda be happy to die as a martyr to his cause. Lets not forget that he wouldn't want to spend life in prison as this whole country is going to be destroyed by Al qaeda..

In a capitol case the defendant plead guilty. Later in an appeals court the trial was thrown out; the court cited the defendant can't plead guilty in a capitol case.
Since this man is on trial for 9/11 he is looking at the death penalty. The judge couldn't allow such a plea.

He is defending himself and refuses to have a lawyer. He doesn't understand how the system works and has been making non-sensical motions, demands and arguments. At one point he pled "No contest", thinking that it would give him a chance to plead his case, but not realizing that this meant guilty.
The court has a legal responsibility to protect him and be assured that he has competant legal advice. If he pleads guilty and is convicted he could appeal it later claiming that he was insane, wasn't properly aware of his options and had no legal counsel. The court has to make sure that proper process is followed.

Dv it might not be so simple to think of him as just a moron. His reasons are not reasonable to us the average citizen. But, he is an al qaida operative. The 20th hijacker! He hates the US. He thinks that our government must be the devil literally. Theres no way he reasons he should play the devils game so he decides to go for the quick end.

Plus-- Theres no chance in hell hes getting a more lenient sentence when you remember 9-11 is on trial here.

Of course you can be executed for not killing anyone. There is precedent for this. The Rosenburgs were executed for giving US nuclear secerets to the Soviets. Don't forget 9-11 is on trial!!! Thats what seems to escape everyone who thinks he might get life.

No you still can get executed for treason. Its been there ever since this nation was born. Recently Hanson was going to get the death penalty but he cooperated.

that is what i said. and the goverment can charge who ever whatever they like they can charge him for being a dictator, a communist, a captilist, a femist, a murder , a terriost, and other stuff they can charge. But would they be able to prove it ? no!

Johnny, the U.S. government can't just make up rules and then make them retroactive to accuse people. All of these laws are on the books. From your other postings you generally seem to disagree with everything the U.S. does. I find it interesting when people share their own opinions, but I'd ask that you stick to facts rather than sensational tidbits.
