Small YaBB Forum Host required

Greetings folks,

I have a small group of dedicated xbox live dirty [as in crash, destroy, fender benders, win at all costs] racing enthusiasts that I want to start a limited user discussion forum for. I am looking for a host that can support the following forum software features:

System requirements to install YaBB :
Perl 5 (or higher) installed on the server your web account is on
CGI.pm v2.4+ and Socket.pm modules installed on the server your web account is on
At least 1 MB of diskspace on your webspace account; over 3 MB recommended
Sendmail (for Linux/Unix) or SMTP (for Windows/NT or Linux/Unix); optional, but recommended

YaBB is the software I am looking at http://www.yabbforum.com/ and wonder if anyone has experience with this and what it takes to get it up and running in terms of ftp upload etc. It doesn't mention any requirements for mysql etc, but requirements can be viewed here http://www.yabbforum.com/requirements.php

I have no idea what say 20 users would equate to in mb traffic or space but I would not imagine that it would be excessive by any means. There will be no need to host any other files or ftp space / traffic. No uploaded avatars or signature pics would be required so traffic would simply be text based for most part.

Subdomain could be something like fenderbenders.yourhost.whatever
We would be most willing to host ads / sponsor links in return for hosting.

Might I suggest that hosting services check this link http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?num=1104961763
for perhaps continued support of YaBB Forum Software.

Best regards,

Fin

WOW! And this is actually a new post too! For a minute there, I thought
someone had bumped up another 5 year old thread which seems to
be becoming a common phenomenon around here lately ...

YaBB is for all practical purposes a totally extinct forum application
with very few people even using it anymore.

The original Perl version of YaBB was plagued with literally hundreds
of security holes and resource usage problems and was a bit more
than a nightmare to use given that it was so easy to hack and
often increased load ratings on hosts where it was used.

The short lived PHP version didn't have the security holes or stability problems
of the old Perl version but it lacked a lot of the features commonly found in
other more widely supported forum applications.

I deal with thousands of hosting accounts on a daily basis and I can
tell you that it has probably been a good two years since I've seen
any real site using YaBB as it's forum software.

YaBB is basically dead. The top forum applications actively being
used today would be phpBB2, IPB, vBulletin, and SMF. All of those
are infinitely better programs than YaBB .... take your pick!

EDIT: Of the list of forum applications I gave above, my personal choice
would be phpBB2 which can be found at http://www.phpbb.com

Striker, are you trying to be funny or did you just fail to actually read my post?

You really didn't look too hard if you missed the FREE hosting links on
the new Clubhost web site format. Take a closer look at the bottom left
of main homepage and also the menu that is in that very same quadrant
of our main homepage at http://www.clubhostcity.com.

Those "FREE Hosting" links take you to the main portal page of our
forum site which has the details on each of our FREE hosting plans ...

You can go there directly by going to the following URL:
http://forums.clubhostcity.com/portal.php

Thank you for your most 'informative and helpful' reply. The YaBB user forums would tend to disagree. I shall look elsewhere and avoid recommending your site to our users and others when I do.
