Reliable hosting provider

There are many web host providers in the market but what you have to look very significantly is that:
1) Is that provider offer excellent customer support by phone or support ticket
2) Is that provider offer up time 24*7
3) Is providing free malware protection
4)Is it providing shield against hackers.
You have to have information on all these then at last comes the cost factor as almost all web hosts charge almost equal or negligible amount compared. :talk:

Can you please clarify these:
2) Is that provider offer up time 24*7
3) Is providing free malware protection
4)Is it providing shield against hackers.

One more thing. By saying "Is that provider offer up time 24*7" do you mean 99.9% uptime?

How can your host protect you from hackers ? :shame: Ask any hacker and he will tell you that anything is "hackable" .

You know, there are web hosts with DDos attack protection, Spam protection and many others... the thing is that it will be always a good idea to contact the company's support and ask them about the protection they offer.

If you consider a bit older host, you can safely assume that they are time tested and know how to protect their servers.

If you are in Shared Hosting, it's enough one account to be non-securized, if that account gets compromised, all acounts will be hacked. It happened before, as I read on google.

It can happen, but there are many steps that a shared host can take to make things many degrees safer so that their hosted sites are virtually unhackable - not impossible, but very unlikely. Some shared hosts do not security so seriously. However, in regards to what the OP has said, it is not easy to tell how secure a shared host is until a security incident (or attempted security incident) takes place.

Web site hosting no longer needs to be a long and tedious search in order to choose reliable place to host your web sites.

Using the right type of web site hosting service is so serious to your success.

Good suggestions here.

I'd recommend to choose the company that is at least 5 years in the industry.

Really You did here what just happened with hivelocity right?

Been around for quite a while now and they just got hacked hardcore.

Well if the provider uses shosin, suphp and does not allow for access to other peoples directory by being smart about security. It is harder for c99 shells and such to be ran from the computer.

Don't sacrifice security and quality. It is not ideal to jump into affordable web hosts in which in the long run can lead to many problems such as web site accessibility and, worst, shutting down of web site.

Another thing to check for is how well they have set up their DNS server and if there are nameserver errors, single points of failure, etc. If there's errors, It's a sure sign that a newbie is running the host.

It is not necessarily to choose a host with the "fastest" ticket response time, but choose one who you feel you communicate well with.

Every business has different requirements for their website and that's why we discuss topics like mySQL, PHP, ASP, .NET, Ecommerce, Dedicated, Shared and VPS solutions.
Contact the company you are interested in and see how knowledgeable their support is.

I suppose that it will be always a good idea to go to a few hosting review sites and read what people have said, there is a high chance that a host has written positive things about himself so you are looking for negative reviews because those will tell you the truth.

It would be a catastrophe : sites with tons and tons of pages disappearing. Backup service should come to be a key point.
