Question for the ladies and men with sense of fashion...

Whoever coined up the word 'metrosexual' should die.

Honestly, buy what you want, make up for anything else with your own personality =/

Well I am going for the look that makes people turn their heads and go "whoa whats going on with this guy" like make people think.

Those 3 shirts (among others) were picked out by a girl I know and I ran it by a couple of others I know and these were the ones I narrowed it down to.

The idea is to set yourself apart from everyone else. No one likes boring.

My current wardrobe sucks so I want to re do it from scratch. I mostly have boring tshirts and the usual crap everyone else does, I want to change it to something more exciting.

I see what your motivation is here, but when you think about it, to set yourself apart from everyone else, you have to be out of fashion. You're not going to stand out in a crowd when you're wearing the hot new fall looks that everyone else is buying.

It shouldn't be about "setting yourself apart". ----, you want to look good so chicks will want to come home with you and sex you up!

Good point...just because I might want to wear something that is consider "in style" it makes people freak out and think I am gay or something. When you are straight the absoulute most embarissing moment is when someone askes if you are gay just because at the moment u look "in style" and are talking to girls...and it has happened to me.

Yeah, but for them to notice you you have to stand out from the crowd - WHILE being fashionable.

I mean I can put on a potato sack and stand out but a potato sack says all the wrong things.

This is exactly why I propose the naked thing.

You know, if Meksilon were still around, I'm pretty sure my comments would be drawing him out into the open right now.

You know another great way to stand out, Conscript?

Be fashionable (or less than fashionable) from a different decade, and combine that with creative facial hair.

I've got a friend, Kevin, whom I last saw wearing a fitted pink suit jacket with blue corduroy bell bottoms, a rock n roll t-shirt, longish hair and a pornstar moustache. That and the fact he's 6'6 makes him stand out in a crowd. He seems completely comfortable, and everyone loves him. he's not even gay.

maybe give that a try. go for the Fez from 'That 70's Show' look

.. or be yourself. Dress how you want to be dressed and let people like you for who you are and not for what you are wearing.

This is who I am though, I just don't know how to get there stylishly. There is no shame in asking others for advice.

And if they don't like you for who you are and how you dress, then you are out of luck...and time to start being trendy!

The thing is I love to do random stuff and be a crazy funny guy, no really! That's why I want clothes that are congruent with that. Wearing a 5 year old nike shirt that has been washed 50 times and some boring pants I picked up from K-Mart just isn't cutting it anymore.

you wash that shirt 10 times per year, or once every 5 weeks. that's not a good thing is it? unless you only wear it 1-2 times in the 5 week cycle...

I was just trying to prove a point.... But now that you mentioned it that shirt probably gets washed every 3 weeks because I have a large array of crappy t-shirts.
