We're having problems finding a host for our website. This is because we are (a) a pagan/occult group with an anti-Christian viewpoint and (b) some of our site content is erotic in nature and deals with sexuality in a frank and up-front way.
We are looking for a about 10mb of space reasonably cheap with FTP access, email but otherwise nothing fancy. We have a simple no-frills site. By reasonably cheap - say under $10 a month. (We are non-US based and currency conversion hurts if we are paying in US dollars!)
We have tried several hosts. Most recently we bought a domain name at a host but last month's payment wasn't taken and our site has disappeared without notice. The host is not responding to our emails. We're looking around to relocate.
What happens to the domain name, though? We've printed up stationery and letterhead with the URL. Can we keep the same domain name at a new host? If not, we need a new domain name too.
We'd really appreciate any guidance with this. I've spent hours searching hosts. Most want no erotic material. Our stuff is not pornographic or explicit. It is very tasteful, but when its combined with paganism - the occult and witches etc - it freaks some people out. We need a broad-mind host who doesn't panic when he sees the word "witch".
Why don't we try the few pagan-specific hosts around? Have done. Surprisingly, most want to foster a family-friendly image and have trouble with erotic content. Or they are very partisan towardstheir particular brand of paganism...
Can anyone suggest a suitable host in the price range?
