Paying for hits a scam?

Conscript

I looked at several sites today that claim to offer X amount of hits for $x.

A couple of things that are suspicious for me is that they don't allow frame breaking scripts to be on the page they promote, or popups/popunders, etc. It sounds to me like they just wrote a quick program that reloads your site or something and those things would get in the way (I imagine if they reloaded your site automatically 10,000 times and got 10,000 popups their comps would crash).

So whats the skinny on those sites? I'm just now re-entering the world of webmastering after a few years on the sidelines and boy have things changed lol.

Are they worth it? Are even a fraction of those visitors legit? I saw a site that claimed they can send you 250,000 visitors for $68.

My math is this, if out of those "visitors" even 30% are legit, that's 75,000, if out of those 75,000 1% click on a google ad word during their visit which yield me 10 cents I will make $75 so I will roughly break even give or take a few bucks.

So what has your experience been with these kinds of "services"? Cause right now I am thinking "SCAM" unless someone can show otherwise.

most of them are scams... they are useless traffic, not targeted to your market or products at all...traffic like that could be redirected from anywhere... probably a defunct porn site

They seem like scams to me to,
I don't get how you can just force visitors over to an allocated website
let alone get them to click ads

I would suspect it's foul play to make money

You're all wrong. It's autosurf traffic, hence they don't want any frame breaking scripts, or popups. Look at any of the rules on an autosurf, these are all not allowed. I've seen thousands of these offers, it's autosurf.

This is definitely an autosurf program and will send completely untargeted traffic to your site that will bounce almost immediately (going on to the next site.)

In my opinion, tt would be better to spend that money getting targeted traffic to your site through PPC type programs.
