Whats all this talk about dedicated ips? I thought there was only static and dynamic ip? ;)

All hosts better have static IPs. You better be scared if they didn't.

Dynamic IPs refer only to what you get from your ISP.

When a host offers a dedicated IP it simply means you get your own IP. Otherwise, with name-based hosting, multiple accounts will share the same IP.

The only thing you need a dedicated IP for is SSL, and sometimes anon FTP dependig on how the server is set up.
