More Government Stuff (IRS Tax Forms) Being Forced To Online

As if that old stuff wasn't enough: http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2231315

Now your IRS Tax forms are never going to be in the mail either: http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=11741003

I already have my SSI as DD into an account that's for me "OR" my grandmother. Wait till grandma (the person who does my forms hears about this... she's going to get even more angry. She hates doing stuff online.)

I don't even know where my Department of Revenue is... oh wait, yes I do.

2135 Rimrock Rd, Madison WI. Highly inaccessible, even though the Coliseum is next to it, as only one bus goes there. I could always walk there in about 2-3 hours.

The internet is taking over our lives.

I hear the forums are even online-only now. I can't even get unread posts mailed to me as of 2010.

well, i do my taxes online since i was 16, so, i could care less. i think it is good. less paper being manufactured. its better for the environment. good for the government on this one. :)

Doubt it's better for the environment, after all it's using computers and servers all of the time. But they should still have the mail option too for those that need it. Everything is going to the Internet, even though its still a big security risk when you're dealing with HUGE numbers, and soon to be restricted with new laws being passed. Ugh :/

All hail the new internet tax overlords!

I'd rather do my taxes online as well. Faster/more secure as long as the SSL certificates check out. And I actually do check them before submitting any personal info to a site.

It's just another incentive for people to be familiar with the internet and use it for business instead of traditional paper.

It's much quicker on the internet. When you do it by mail, someone could easily steal your letter and write down your info on its way to the governments office. At least on the internet with SSL there is much less of a chance of this happening and you get your refund quicker.
