Hi,

are there any hosts that offer hosting which combines advertisement and paid-for?

I do not want to pay 8US$ a month, but would rather recieve "product news" from a sponsor once a week. (NO ADS on the site!) I'm willing to pay maybe 2 or 3 US$ a month, but not more.

Aussie Host, how long have you been around on the web, and how can you afford the Budget plan? (In other words: Please assure me that you're not a flight-by-night operation ;) .)

BTW, my site will contain adult fanfiction. :eek: So if I'm going to get hosted by you, could you please

a) look the other way

b) do not delete it if you accidently hit on its content.

Why? Although in over thirty years I've never heard of a prosecution, fanfiction is in a shady legal area, since it is a actually a copyright violation. Add the word "adult", and you'll understand why I need to ask. It will not be a porn site (no hot pics and masses of visitors gurgling up bandwidth), just a place kids shouldn't play. Please look here for an example. If you're ok with having something like this on your server, please let me know here or via email.

The budget plans (at the bottom of that page) are not on our own servers (we were originally resellers as well), whereas the AH1-4 are.

The budget plan was the one I was looking at. I got no use for 50 megs (15 would do nicely) and I can do without SQL, PHP, CGI etc. Sigh. Back to geocities. :frown2:

The AH1 plan is within your specified US$2 to $3 budget (by about $3), so that's why I recommended that. :)

If you like, you can drop me a line at gary@aussiehosts.com and request a custom plan. We can set you up with the AH1 with the lesser amount of space closer to the lower end of your budget.

The main thing is that you don't need to subject your site to ads or your Inbox to sponsorship emails if you are willing to pay a few dollars a month for your hosting. We, and I'm sure many other hosts, can provide you with quality hosting at any end of the budget/requirements scale.
