I went to Walmart today to purchase a dvd upconverter, and Walmart had the local radio station running a trivia contest for $50 gift cards. Johnson won, and the player was $47.50.

i am winner at life
 
congratulations. Now you just have to decide what you are going to do with the $50 you would have spent on the player :D

Nah. But most HD-DVD players can DVD upconvert, and hence they being renamed to DVD Upconverters seeing as nobody wants to play HD-DVDs.

DVD upconveters are generally cheaper players used for literally upconverting standard DVDs accross a HD source to a better picture quality for HDTVs than standard DVD players.
 
Will do tomorrow, I only have one Blue-Ray disc right now though... we were supposed to get like 5 or 6 for free. They haven't arrived yet lol.

The Blue-Ray disc is some war movie, so yeah..
