Because I get very bad travel sickness. I don't think it was a stroke, I've had it happen a few times before when traveling more than an hour in a car. I don't know why it gets so extreme though. I can't travel more than a few miles in a car before I get mildly sick to that extreme.

My mom has to carry promethazine tablets when she travels because of it.

I grew up traveling, though. 10 hours in a car is nothing to me.

I'm about to take Amtrak in a few weeks to New Orleans instead of my usual 8-hour drive..

Ticket from Atlanta to New Orleans is around $60 each way ... much cheaper than driving.
