How to be accepted by Fastclick

Does anyone know what kind of rules Fastclick use to accept you for their program or not? I have tried it twice now ... didn't succeed. I really would like to be accepted by a more professional kind of program with more possibilities. Right now I am using PopUpTraffic.com but today I noticed they also have pop-up ads that promote stuff like sexual stimulants. I have a website that attracts a lot of teens as well and I do not find it an appropriate item to promote on my site. I also like to experiment with other kind of ads than popups. The payment is good though, last month I earned around $60 with 1500 unique visitors a day. I also tried advertising.com ... same story there ... didn't accept me. Is it my site? Really would like to know your opinion about this. Any other sites I could check out? I tried adpower.com ... it's not recommended ... revenue is okay but they have terrible under pops that spawn other windows with hard to find close buttons.

A combination of Standard Internet's programs, Amazon.com, AllPosters (or Art.com) and perhaps a DVD-centric program such as DVDEmpire should provide a decent platform on which to build.

Not really, as said before, the audience of my website is relatively young. Most people are 12-17 years old ... making it hard to earn a reasonable revenue with selling items like cd's and posters. I already have something similar with amazon and CJ.com. Amazon for CD's/DVD (that really didn't pay a dime for 6 months), CJ.com for posters and t-shirts. That did generate some revenue but not enough to pay for my site ($20 for 6 months).
Anyone else with good suggestions ... ?

That's a great site! I'm not all that into Britney, but it's got a really clean design and your flash for the awards is great.

Some ideas for added affiliates to your site that might bring in some new revenue:

http://www.buycostumes.com - Halloween is right around the corner and I swear I saw a particular costume that was either pop diva or Britney herself. I think commish is around 6%. Could be wrong.

http://www.textbooksource.net - For those in college or getting ready to go to college, this lets you buy college textbooks used for a lower price. Can't remember what the commission is off the top of my head, but this would probably be great for your target age group.

http://www.celebrity-addresses.com/ - Don't know what the commision is on this either, but it's a book that has the addresses of just about every celebrity imaginable.

http://www.sephora.com - I would assume, as many articles as Britney must do about style and make-up, that surely she has mentioned the brands she uses. Do a little research, find out what kind and find it here, then link to the particular products using your affiliate id. They should email you the instructions when you sign up.

http://www.totalcampus.com/store/ - A store for college kids. Check their affiliate page for commission structure.

http://www.emerchandise.com - This website has pop culture themed merchandise from those cute advertising shirts (Pillsbury Doughboy, Trix, etc.) to concert ts.

http://www.hottopic.com - Very popular with the high school crowd.

Hope that helps you some!

I'm surprised Standard Internet allowed a site like that.

Fastclick does not accept those kind of sites, they rules are fairly strict.

Archbob ... could you please tell me what you mean with your 'surprise' that Standard Internet accepted my website ... it's a normal website without illegal activities like Warez and stuff like that. Allthough my website is visited by a lot of teens, it is NOT a teen site ... adults visit our pages more often than they admit.

Well, britney spears sites in general are considered teen, the rules are vague at SI regarding these kinds of sites. Since your site does not advocate "flaunting", Standard internet allows it. Anyways, you have like 5 pop-ups when I opened the site, thats why I'm surprised that SI did not kick you out, and even if you do get into fastclick, you will not be able to use their pops, in the TOS, it says the pop-unders can not be used on a site that has more than a total of 2 of such ads.

Archbob ... first of all, I only have two pop-ups ... one regular and one under pop-up. Both are from Standard Internet (popuptraffic), that's allowed. Secondly ... Britney Spears might be considered teen but that's not completely true ... it's an entertainment site and I have visitors from all ages (with, yes indeed, a larger amount of teens).

I need the pop-ups to be able to pay for the webhosting. They host me for free right now but that will end next year ... than I will have to pay just like any other. Also, I wanted to be accepted by fastclick to replace the current pop-ups from Popuptraffic. I'm looking for a more professional way to get some revenue. Popuptraffic is paying very good though and that is what I need. Fansites are great to run but they cost a lot of transfer and webspace :(
