while we're talking australians, do people really say "spiggin hufter" as some kind of insult. They use it all the time on neighbours now and some people I know strongly suspect they've made it up.

No, I've never even heard of it. We don't have it over here.

Urbandictionary tells me that the words are used by a character on "Neighbours". IMDB then told me Neighbours was the longest-running Aussie TV-series.
