Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here uses them? What do you think of them, are they reliable?

i used them a long time ago ... they have like more banners then angelfire ... i talked to a friend who is on them .... no banners except it waits 10 seconds after they close ur window n then flood them with banners =D ... so they wont noe its u

I use them for a site and think that they are probably the best host around. I have rarely ever ran into problems. They provide the best speed and reliablity i think you can get with a free host. Add that with FTP and the fact that they are/were offering free mySQL, and you've got one heck of a host.

I believe they are good, even though I have never used them...

But is it true that if you type in the wrong URL, you are re-directed to Porn ads?

being redirected to porn ads is true but that happens with a lot of places ... because porn industries register misspells of domains so that if u miss spell ur gunna go to them ...

Ok thanks for clearing that up... because I remember typing in "http://www.hostultra.com/forums/" instead of "http://www.hostultra.com/forum/" and I was redirected to porn sites. :biggrin2:

Beware though, because on some free hosts, even if you type the correct URL of a page or file, or click a link referencing the correct URL of a page or file, you'll still get redirected to a porn error 404 at random. http://www.freehostempire.com/ is notorious for this.

Dont forget web1000.com !! They are just as bad as they will replace sites of yours w/porn ads.

well i dislike the whole idea of online porn ... but if u cant get it then u gotta get it some how (and what i mean it as in sex) ... anyways ... its a very profitable industry. i mean look at playboy ...

As far as I am concerned, I get "it" so there is no reason for me to see "it" on the internet. Especially at a web host.

So as far as I know, hostultra (the host, not the owner) is going down that spiral downfall that cannot be stopped until it is gone.

Well I bet a lot of free web hosts are getting a lot from these Porn 404s.

Does anyone saying saying hostultra 404s now go to porn sites have proof of that? If so please PM me an addy to check. Both forum and forums go to forum for me. If you can't provide proof, drop the subject, especially so for other hosts contributing to this thread.

uhmm... Yes both URLs now lead to the forum... however it didn't when I last visited. Perhaps he's only just recently made that sub-domain / sub-directory, re-direct to the correct URL?

I just typed in an invalid URL for hostultra and got two porn pages popping up right away. Not anything tame either. I sent you a pm Jan.

Each one popups up two more... definitly something that will make anyone not visit your site ever again :angry2:

Eric, I really can't understand why you would do this, you should know by now that the majority of members here are underage, and yet you resort to the creepiest tactic in the book. You have had a dubious reputation since you have been a member here but to resort to this is just sick. People were just starting to trust you again and now you do this to them. I will remove your listings from Host FAQs until you can prove to me and admin that you have cleaned up your act. :angry2:
