I've never left the US before. But this Christmas I'm going to Australia.

Poor you. :p

Yeah bring nice summer clothes, and Star City in Syd is the best casino IMHO, shits all over the Crown.

Too bad you won't get the chance to watch a game of AFL.

Where are you going exactly?

Yeah Star City rules, only because I won $50 there last week. Do bridge climb if u come to sydney, trust bozley on the boogie board thing.

Yeah, no boogey board bags, but if you really want to, make sure you're 'beautiful' so you receive international media attention when the shit hits the fan ;)

Melbourne. My uncle lives there. I was planning on skating all day every day at street spots I find around there. Considering I'm 16, I doubt I'd be able to go in any casinos. :devious2:

Not that I was planning on it, whats the deal with boogy boards and Bali?

Yay! Melbourne wins!!! There is lots of steps and rails around to skate on, try schools out, they seem to work well.

What suburb does your uncle live in? I might be able to give you some ideas for fun. And it will make my stalking attempts alot easier too, muhahaha.

I'm not really sure which suburb. I just know he moved there around a year ago.

I'll probably just end up roaming around downtown until I find various skate spots. It's how I've basically made a mental map of Atlanta in the past six months.

Is downtown/midtown Melbourne relatively safe, or are you likely to get pummeled with bullets if you wear the wrong color shirt? Also, are the cops dicks? I'd hate to have to pick up my board (from simply riding between spots) every time I see 5-0.

Is there a subway system there? If so, can you name stops with little to no security patrol? Im so accustomed to riding, I'd go broke if I had to pay. 99% of subway passengers here follow the honor system so I don't have to.

Yeah, it is pretty much safe here, until like 10pm... then there is a few gang hotspots, but if you don't cause any fuss and stick to mainstream areas you'll be right.

We don't really have downtown/midtown, it is just the CBD (Central Business District) surrounded by fancy inner suburbs, then outer suburbs.

Guns are rare here, mainly used by Italian gangsters, but they kill their own. You're safe from them. Asian gangs use knifes, but they are in the western suburbs mainly, so keep clear of there.

Our police, they are pretty much non-existent. They are more concerned with giving speeding tickets than dealing with punka*s kids, so they won't bother ya.

Yep, we have a train system, you only have to buy a ticket if you want to get of at one of the city stops, all the other stations you can get out without needing a ticket. Stations that I'm pretty sure you will need a ticket for: Flinders Street, Spencer Street, Parliment, Flagstaff, Melbourne Central, Richmond.

You can ride trams without having to buy a ticket, inspectors are a rarity.. If you see one coming on, you just get up and start purchasing a ticket from the machine. Alternatively, you can just carry an unvalidated ticket and validate if need be. If anyone questions you, just say your from America and don't understand our system.

Oh man you should come up to sydney... because... well just because..
regarding the boogy/ie board thing:

Schapelle Leigh Corby (born July 10, 1977) is a former beauty student from Australia convicted by an Indonesian court of attempting to smuggle 4.1 kg of cannabis into Indonesia. In October 2004 she was stopped by customs agents at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, and found to have a large package of drugs in her boogie board bag. Despite protesting her innocence, on May 27, 2005, she was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years jail. She was also fined IDR100,000,000 (AUD13,875), with an additional six months if unpaid.

I've always had a dark desire to play out the "Stupid American" stereotype. "You mean that's a boarding ticket machine? I thought it was spitting out traffic tickets."

Just don't try what one guy did on my train once - Got warned the first day, then boarded the 2nd day, without a ticket.

$500. You Betcha.

I got a fine once, and I sent off quite a number of letters of complaint about that. I enjoyed it, but I don't think the guy at the department of infrastructure enjoyed hearing from me constantly.

Don't know why sane person would want to visit Australia.

You guys should all visit me in Estonia.
