The gimp (gimp.org) is open source software. It's roughly analogous to Photoshop 4.0. It can't compare to the current version of PS, but hey it's free...

can you briefly describe features this software has? What is your oppinien about it? What kind of extensions are compatable with it?

I was reading through this thread and I downloaded DrawPlus. It looks kind of simple when you are used to work with giants (ie. photoshop).
I was wondering if anyone of you know of a more "advanced" program (that supports layers and masking and such), not necessarily free, which would work on my crappy computer? (Pentium MX 166MHz, 32MB RAM, running a crappy version of WindowsME.)

Thanks,

PS: Oh, and if you suggest I should buy a new comp, I will, but in a few months only.

Ouch thoughs are some harsh specs! Please tell me that is not your main machine. My PDA (That I am selling by the way. ;) ) is more powerfull than that. :p

Just now caught your PS. Good thing you are getting a new one. I was going to send you one!

use old version ot photoshop :) I think photoshop 5 is compatable with your 166 mashine. But of course it is betterr to upgrade.....Now PC components are not so expensive
