Google tried to convice ICANN to give them a dotless domain name

Of course they will reject that request, it was madness to begin with.

Google's idea to further establish their dominance over search engines was interesting in its core, but posed a large security and stability risk. Using the .search functionality can break applications and protocols, most notably the SMTP protocol. ICANN made the right call in this case.

Still, Google presented a request for opening more than 100 new TLD's, many of which will easily grow popularity, so they should just accept defeat in this small battle :rolleyes2

I agree with your opinion, Rado_Ch. We can clearly see the ambitions of Google through this small battle.
