Finding out my Myacen IP!

Short of asking my webhost .... which seem to take several days to reply at the moment.... I thought I'd put this basic question to the floor:

Does anyone know how I can find out the exact IP address of my webhost space with Myacen? Am I looking for a static IP?

I want to use a dynamic dns system [www.zoneedit.com] to point my domain to my data. The IP they have given me is to a gateway server of some sort; a login and pw interface for all their clients to access a control panel [eg 64.246.11.3].
How do I find my exact IP for domain pointing?

use php .....

Open notepad ,

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

Save as "phpinfo.php"

Upload and run ...
look down and you should find the server ip :)

The DNS must be updated to reconise the domain and point it to the "folder" on the server.

thanks cdudeuk18,

the php file doesn't show up in the browse tool they have. i have no IP for ftp so there is no way of getting it there without using this panel..

Well, http://www.selectparks.net isn't the URL you are talking about I assume. A couple points...

The IP may not be a dedicated IP, and if not, you are limited to what is set up on the server already. Not exactly sure what else you want to do with the domain's DNS that your host doesn't already have set up for you.
 
We have sorted the mail issue now :) Sorry wasn't checking the temporary hotmail account, but I will answer the questions now :)
 
Your on name based hosting, 64.246.11.3 is our servers IP address :), you did not receive a static ip.
 
Stuck!!

I'm totally stuck!!

Have I gone the wrong way using the dynamic dns service [ www.zoneedit.com ] and not the native nameservers of my webhost [ myacen]???? Do I have to ask myacen to use the zoneedit nameservers in order to glue my domain to the webspace?
I don't know how to do this without pointing my domain to a static IP...

Do I have to do this only because myacen do not have a unique IP for my webspace, or for other reasons?
it seems a shame to not be able to use dynamic dns with my choice of webhosting.
Anyways I wouldn't know how to change my dns at the webhost's end...do they have to do it for me?

Think of it this way ....

My name is DNS ... and to get Web Server .. i have to run all the way from London to Manchester ..... However ... in Manchester they have my Brother who is also called DNS .... all he has to do is run a few meters at super high speeds to get to Web Server ... and sometimes the highway is busy ... so it takes me longer than usual .. as where as he gets super fast , not busy , ethernet connections to Web Server.

lol, thx for the analogy...

this still does not tell me how to change my dns at myacen's end.

also it leaves me with the questions whether I should try pointing my existing dns's:

ns1.zoneedit.com 207.228.252.101
ns5.zoneedit.com 207.41.71.245

to myacens dns's.

what do you think?

I have a big problem with payment though ... i can only pay via Debit Card ( Visa Debit ) ... i think this will work over Visa .... as classed as a credit Card ..

Do u have any of the following :

MSN , Yahoo , AOL , ICQ ??
