hi all
iwant asq somthing!
ihave 123flashchat v6.5 unix full and iwant free hosted For the installation of It will give him in return a 123flashchat completed version

I don't think you will find someone to give you access to SSH, especially for a free hosting. Because of security.

SSH really isnt a big deal if the user doesnt have sudo access, and without the root user password, they wont be able to do a whole lot. not more than FTP really. that being said, what type of specs are you looking for?

You'll think that until you get some script kiddie who uploads an exploit script, breaks out of their SSH jail and then rootkits your box.

ah, you make a good point. is it really that easy to do that though?

If your kernel is old, it's easy. If it's updated, it would be hard for a script kiddie to find a exploit for new versions. Or impossible for him to find such a new exploit, because underground hackers usually don't make their exploits public until there are patches for it's kernels.

Point being, you just don't know. Giving SSH access just opens you up for trouble. Keeping shell access limited is always good practice in standard linux security. Besides, there's really no reason why any typical shared hosting customer should ever need it unless they're planning to do something they shouldn't be doing in the first place.

Good luck with that. Most shared hosting providers do not allow running standalone server applications.

Perhaps you can explain to the prospective host how you can shell out 199$ at the very least for flashchat123, but want free hosting? That is of course that the version you have is legal.
