ecommerce hosting?

what is ecommerce hosting? what's the difference from that and standard shared hosting, besides having ssl?
 
You get some advantages of business hosting like that ssl you said. You can get free software and sometimes free merchants accounts or paid gateway fees. And with that ssl you will get at least one IP address.
 
I dont know about the host paying for merchant fees, however they will include a ecommerce software, as well as a option for SSL with a dedicated IP.
 
thanks. sounds like a great plan to put together for my customers. I've been writing my own content manager for the past 2 years, and we're planning on writing an ecommerce module for it. could offer that for free with ecommerce accounts.
