Turn your screen contrast or brightness down perhaps?? White backgrounds and such have been the norm in this industry for as long as I can remember, and I've been in it a very long time.

I don't think that's going to change because your eyes are hurting.

I'm not saying make a super dark template but a light blue or grey background once in a while would be nice to see.

A white background is like the default color, its like paper easy to read.

Yeah, white/light backgrounds bug me, too. When a forum has the option, I change it to something else.
