Blocked Free domains ie .co.cc/.co.cz etc

I disabled any clients from signing up with free domains such as .co.cc, co.cz, uni.cc etc

We still allow free hosting services like other hosting providers though, in order to limit abuse and spam.

This limit only comes with reseller plans.

Do you think this was a good or bad idea, also would I be losing much clients from this?

We have done the same with co.cz due to abuse. It has not effected our sign ups.

We blocked them a reason for:
They can parked however but not for sign up because if those subdomain expire they've to pay renewal fee if they don't. Their account with us will stay offline as it remain with hosting.

co.cc not only poison users but also poison our host.
So if they need that much we point them to sign up around afraid.org or buy their domain to sign up with our host.

With co.cc it is free to renew the domain for personal use - there is no charge.

Right only for personal but:
- If anyone use for commercial site I don't think they can use with us.
- If anyone use co.cc sign up with our resellers it'd be troublesome as they said they renew only.
- Chance to get price tag & cause that subdomain unusable if that subdomain got high traffics.

With these reasons can weigh enough for us to blocked it. Beside they can use afraid.org service to register with us.
So "co.cc they can use for park but not for sign up."

Blocking free domains like co.cc/co.cz is good idea as they get expired after 1/2 years. But don't block domains of .tk as they are free for life
