I have two domains that I own with free hosting providers, each with email. I was thinking it would be nice to have the email accounts on their own hosts - that way I don't use site bandwidth with my email usage (I assume email counts against total bandwidth). I have used MX records before to forward email and it seems straightforward. Is this a good idea? Any suggestions?

Google Apps. They have limits on how many emails you can send per day, and at what size.
Live does have one. I tried them and it just wasn't the best.

Google apps + your own domain name - that is what you can use.
