Tripod, one of the largest free hosts, announced today that it will offer cash to sites with more than 100 unique visitors per day. Here's how it works: If the number of ad impressions served on your page exceeds 1,000 per day, you will earn $1 for every 1,000 ad impressions served on your page. If the number of ad impressions served on your page is between 100 and 999 ad impressions per day, you will earn $.50 for every 1,000 ad impressions served.
Tripod has also announced that it now offers shorter url's, subdomains and more cgi scripts to use on your site. (thanks Tripod and Jim Reardon for this info).

More than 100 new reviews written by visitors has been added today.
Swedish free host Passagen now offer 5 MB of free webspace.
I've tried to improve the message boards, so that it will be faster to post messages. We've had some speed problems recently, so we will move to a faster server within the next 2 weeks.

Major updates today, sorry about the delay... We are currently working on some important changes and new features for FreeWebspace.net coming within the next 2-3 weeks.

Recently the Czech newspaper Novinky and the US newspaper Star Tribune (Minneapolis) wrote about FreeWebspace.net. If you wish to read what has been written about this site, go to the about FreeWebspace.net page. (Translation not yet available for the czech newspaper.)

New free webspace providers added today:

Eccentrica (thanks Tom), Everserve (thanks Ryan Niemi), Planetfreebee (danish, thanks Christian K-L Yau Heilesen, Planetfreebee), Vicinities (Canada, thanks Jennifer Tackaberry), 1stConnection (thanks Neil Skirrow, 1stConnection), Sealteamsix (thanks Site Fan).

Topcities now offer 50 MB. TheGlobe now have a banner instead of the popup ad (thanks John Brugliera). Fixed some errors in the info for Kyd (thanks Joe Faron, Kyd). CiteGlobe now offer 50 MB (thanks Wadie k. Morocco). Updated info for InstaCities (thanks James Harkin, InstaCities). Updates for Yahoo! Geocities (thanks everybody). Fixed info for WhatTown (thanks Eric Dunaway, WhatTown). 123cgi now offer 25 MB (thanks Jim). Cansurf is now known as 6797 (thanks Tom).

Removed Startpath, they will no longer offer free hosting. Also removed Bounceweb, looks like it is now owned by Escalix (thanks Tom).

Reviews written by users during the last couple of weeks (more than 300!) have now been added to FreeWebspace.net. You can search and read the reviews at the reviews page. I've also added a new 'Read all reviews' link on that page. This will make it easier to read the most recently added reviews, since reviews are sorted with newest reviews first.
