I have purchased a server from Geekrack
After 8 days!! and tons of tickets sent with very long delays between replies i have actually received my server. i have done that because of the low price they give for a dual core i have paid for my second month on sunday. when i wake up to see my server is off. i check and see it was shut down with no notice. i contact Shequieta the admin and she confirms that she shut me down after as she says: "We sent you a email stating that someone was spamming from this server. You didnt reply so the server was suspended until you would deal with this matter" now ofcourse no email was received nor sent here is another example after purchasing the server : " posted On: 02 Mar 2008 04:48 AM We will give you your details as soon as possible we are dealing with a slight mail problem meaning you did not get your email.. " this is 7dayS! after ordering and now they tell me i need to pay 50$ for server restore!!! "In order to resotre the server we would have to bill you $50 for the re-activation that is being levied to our account by the DC" this is an outrage! i have no money left after paying for this month this week the shut me down with no notice and want even more money! i cant afford paying this ammount after already paying 80$ for ipanel for this exact server. the only thing that will help is if all geekrack client run fast from this horoble provider because i have no money left to pay for even hosting one site anymore! |

Most providers help their clients with spam, rather than shutting them down... But on GeekRacks side - They are limited by the terms of the datacenter they resell from, meaning they are infact correct saying the charge is from the datacenter.
But still... I would ask for proof that the email was sent. PS: Just incase the OP does not know, and thinks they are reselling from... Well... Who knows. GeekRack resell from burst.net Last edited by Richard; April 3rd, 2008 at 09:14. |

They have been doing a lot better lately by using different data centers instead of BurstNet who seems to have a not so good reputation.

why some hosting company need money for anyway
customer is god for us.. if no customer .. hosting company can not make any moeny and get review good server or quality..from their.. My god >. I never seem the company before

Geekrack really cannot be blamed for half of the issues, as they originate from BurstNET. I am glad to see they moved away from Burst as well, so I wish them luck with that!

MOTD: Dont buy cheap servers.
It also helps to read the AUP/TOS's. Your fult mostly and as jan said, did you even check spam box? or use a reliable email in signups? hotmail wont cut it when dealing with servers.

There seems to be a lot of these threads appearing about GR but yet the owner(s) of Geek Rack have yet to come and give some sort of explanation about the issues being reported.
Work it out for yourselves people.

Again 12 months never had problems, we had issues first month we got it straight. GeekRack seems to have an micromanaging Owner and doesnt give the staff the ability to contact the datacenter. So by the time she does its already X amount of hrs and then you have there turn around. We have a direct contact panel in place for all our techs so we didnt have this issue. Not saying that its just Geeks fault but I hate seeing all the blame on one party. Its Both the datacenter and Geeks fault, one for serving such crappy service the other for selling it. No hard feelings to GeekRack, I have had good converstations with the owner, but the way the company is heading its showing signs of poor management etc.
